The Jesters team basically consists of me, Chris Potts, Steve Phillips, Jeff Sharp, Martin Cramner, Dean Allum (our captain, despite the fact that a trained chimp could probably do better), Adrian 'Beano' Greene, John Coyle, & basically anyone from Chris' gran to a tramp in the street depending on how desperate we might be for a particular game. Honorary Jesters this season include amongst others Alan Hellyer & Steve Potts.
Previously the team was based here at the Southend United Training Ground (Boots & Laces), hence the name 'Pocket Shrimpers'. We had to move from here due to the number of games which had to be forfeited because of the state of the table. It has since collapsed (the table, not the training ground).
After a brief flirtation with the 'Fish & Firkin' public house, we then moved to our current home at Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre. The bar is called the 'Jesters Bar', & a condition of us using it was the change of team name. I was totally against this, but still they do provide us with free food!
Of course all members of the team have other jobs, we are after all only amateurs. Below is proof that John Coyle does do something other than simply empty bins etc. for a living.
